{"id":1197,"date":"2009-11-19T08:00:21","date_gmt":"2009-11-19T06:00:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/?p=1197"},"modified":"2009-11-19T08:43:59","modified_gmt":"2009-11-19T06:43:59","slug":"making-a-basket-and-a-bowl","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/?p=1197","title":{"rendered":"Making a basket and a bowl"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m making a lot of props these days, props to populate and decorate my maps, and today we will make a basket that can also be turned into a bowl.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>So, we&#8217;re starting up <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cheetah3d.com\" target=\"_blank\">Cheetah3D<\/a> once again, and start with a cylinder, as usually these days.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/bas-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1199\" title=\"bas-1\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/bas-1.jpg\" alt=\"bas-1\" width=\"328\" height=\"393\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/bas2-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1210\" title=\"bas2-2\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/bas2-2.jpg\" alt=\"bas2-2\" width=\"350\" height=\"308\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We then use the taper tool to give it something like a bowl \/ basket shape.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/bas-4.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1200\" title=\"bas-4\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/bas-4.jpg\" alt=\"bas-4\" width=\"283\" height=\"270\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We coy the shape, shrink and use a boolean remove as we have done numerous of times before, and we got a bowl.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/bas-5.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1201\" title=\"bas-5\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/bas-5.jpg\" alt=\"bas-5\" width=\"347\" height=\"287\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We now create a torus ring, and move and size it so it would be a good handle.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/bas-6.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1202\" title=\"bas-6\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/bas-6.jpg\" alt=\"bas-6\" width=\"291\" height=\"323\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We create a box, and put it so it will remove half of that torus ring.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/bas-7.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1203\" title=\"bas-7\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/bas-7.jpg\" alt=\"bas-7\" width=\"450\" height=\"392\" \/><\/a>\u00a8<\/p>\n<p>We then copy that one handle and move it to the other side, and use a boolean to unify the the handles first, then the handles and the bowl so we got one piece.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/bas-12.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1208\" title=\"bas-12\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/bas-12.jpg\" alt=\"bas-12\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>So, a basket texture, wood weave, rendered in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.filterforge.com\/?affiliateid=200100725\" target=\"_blank\">FilterForge<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/bas-8.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1204\" title=\"bas-8\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/bas-8.jpg\" alt=\"bas-8\" width=\"350\" height=\"345\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And we got a basket. But wait, it looks ugly around the edges.
