You can never have too many mundane tools, as when the same hammer is on the table for the firth time, the PCs starts to think you are getting lazy.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->We start off by starting <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cheetah3d.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Cheetah3D<\/a>, the 3D modeling and render application of my choice. You could do this in virtually any 3D modeling application, even the free <a href=\"http:\/\/www.blender.org\/download\/get-blender\/\" target=\"_blank\">Blender<\/a>, but the learning curve is steep for every 3D application, so you stick to the one you know.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/ha01.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1602\" title=\"ha01\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/ha01.jpg\" alt=\"ha01\" width=\"450\" height=\"209\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We start off with a cube, that we stretch like this.<\/p>\n<p>The we set the polygon divide params like this.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/ha02.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1600\" title=\"ha02\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/ha02.jpg\" alt=\"ha02\" width=\"247\" height=\"198\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Due to those settings, when we now make a polygon object from the cube it will look like this.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/ha03.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1599\" title=\"ha03\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/ha03.jpg\" alt=\"ha03\" width=\"450\" height=\"211\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now, we do catmull subdivide first once.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/ha04.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1598\" title=\"ha04\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/ha04.jpg\" alt=\"ha04\" width=\"450\" height=\"236\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Then a second time.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/ha05a.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1597\" title=\"ha05a\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/ha05a.jpg\" alt=\"ha05a\" width=\"450\" height=\"227\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And we get a pretty good rounded hammer head.<\/p>\n<p>Now, we add a texture, this texture looks like a texture I&#8217;ve been using before that I found on the internet, but this one is larger, and is mine, no possible copyright issues.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/ha05.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1603\" title=\"ha05\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/ha05.jpg\" alt=\"ha05\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And when we apply the texture to our hammer head, we get this in the modeler.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/ha06.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1596\" title=\"ha06\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/ha06.jpg\" alt=\"ha06\" width=\"450\" height=\"216\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It really looks like a worn and dirty metal hammer head.
