We start off where we took a break last time.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Open up the well file in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cheetah3d.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Cheetah3D<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>We need a rig to rise and lower the bucket into the well, so we create a cylinder and rotate it 90 degrees and put it across the top f the well.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/we3-01.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1982\" title=\"we3-01\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/we3-01.jpg\" alt=\"we3-01\" width=\"272\" height=\"209\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now we need some coils of rope, and the best way to do that is to add a few torus rings around the cylinder. First, we set a basic wood texture to the cylinder, then we add a few torus rings. Now, we need a rope texture, and I couldn&#8217;t find any, so I made this one in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.filterforge.com\/?affiliateid=200100725\" target=\"_blank\">FilterForge<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/we3-02.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1983\" title=\"we3-02\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/we3-02.jpg\" alt=\"we3-02\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/we3-03.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1984\" title=\"we3-03\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/we3-03.jpg\" alt=\"we3-03\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Both a texture map and a bump map. \u00a0We add this texture to the torus rings, and it looks good.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/we3-04.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1985\" title=\"we3-04\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/we3-04.jpg\" alt=\"we3-04\" width=\"137\" height=\"102\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now we create two different circular planes, one as a water surface in the well, and one in the bucket. We use the built in water texture in Cheetah3D for that. As a final touch, we put a light doen in the well below the water surface, to give it a magic glow.<\/p>\n<p>Ok, we render a final rendering, and put it into <a href=\"http:\/\/www.omnigroup.com\/applications\/omnigraffle\/\" target=\"_blank\">OmniGraffle<\/a> to add some shadows.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/we3-05.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1986\" title=\"we3-05\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/we3-05.jpg\" alt=\"we3-05\" width=\"418\" height=\"348\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This is how it looks inside OmniGraffle, where I use the grid to set the size of the well.
