ProBono at Dundjinni Forum has made a very nice cider press, but needed some flagons for it. I took the challenge.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->So, this is the picture he had found of old flagons.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/fl01.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2940\" title=\"fl01\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/fl01.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"396\" height=\"297\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I decided to go for the ones without the basket weave, I can make a few basked weaved later on, if I like.<\/p>\n<p>So, we start up <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cheetah3d.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Cheetah3D<\/a>, and start to draw a Spline for our flagon.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/fl02.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2939\" title=\"fl02\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/fl02.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"239\" height=\"384\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We use the Sweep tool to sweep it 360 degrees.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/fl03.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2938\" title=\"fl03\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/fl03.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"344\" height=\"470\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now, we create a Torus ring, shape it a little oval, and then a box to remove the unwanted parts of the to be handle.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/fl04.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2937\" title=\"fl04\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/fl04.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"433\" height=\"437\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We need s second remove operation, as the flagon is not a straight line bottle, but curved.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/fl05.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2936\" title=\"fl05\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/fl05.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"480\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And then we move the handle into place. We make a copy of the flagon, and attach the handle to the copy, and make a cork. So, now we got two types of flagons, with and without a handle, and we got a cork, which we render separately, later.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/fl06.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2935\" title=\"fl06\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/fl06.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"299\" height=\"362\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Using some different colors directly within Cheetah3D, we get a bunch of flagons, that looks really good.
