Today we&#8217;re gonna make one in Cheetah3D, as you can never have too many bridges.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/chb01.jpg\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>So, we start up <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cheetah3d.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Cheetah3D<\/a> and create a cylinder. We&#8217;re gonna make this bridge as fast and simple as possible.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/chb01.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3879\" title=\"chb01\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/chb01.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"248\" height=\"235\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now, we create two torus rings, and place one on each side of the cylinder.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/chb02.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3878\" title=\"chb02\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/chb02.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"205\" height=\"241\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We use the Boolean join to create one object of the three objects we now have.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/chb03.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3877\" title=\"chb03\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/chb03.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"275\" height=\"272\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We now stretch the combined object to a bridge like shape.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/chb04.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3876\" title=\"chb04\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/chb04.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"152\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>But the edges looks wrong, so I created a large sphere that surrounded most of the object, and did a Boolean intersect to remove the part of the edges that where too stretched.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/chb05.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3875\" title=\"chb05\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/chb05.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"253\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now, I used that old &#8220;stove-texture&#8221; I used before, and applied it, using &#8220;frontal&#8221; mode to avoid spending ages UV-mapping. This is how it look in the modeler.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/chb06.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3873\" title=\"chb06\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/chb06.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"103\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Rendering it and then adding drop shadow with my nifty little FilterForge filter, I know, it says making a bridge in Cheetah3D, but adding shadows have to be done and I can either use FilterForge or OmniGraffle for that. So, here it is.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/chb07.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3874\" title=\"chb07\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/chb07.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"1100\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Looks good even against white background, now I placed it on one of my tiles, and then I gave it a little touch of ivy and dirt.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/chb08.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3872\" title=\"chb08\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/chb08.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"383\" height=\"654\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>So, I got one more tile for <strong>The Neverending Docks<\/strong>, a good day.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday, I made a bridge in FilterForge.
