Ok my dad kept sending me pictures of wine presses since I started to work on the Burgundian one, so here is another, based on an old picture, probably Egyptian.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/wptwo1-00.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4022\" title=\"wptwo1-00\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/wptwo1-00.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"350\" height=\"154\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This is the picture, it doesn&#8217;t say much, but it shows that they pressed grapes by wrapping them into some kind of cloth material, then turning it to squeeze the juices out, I&#8217;ll go with that.<\/p>\n<p>So, start up <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cheetah3d.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Cheetah3D<\/a>, we start by making the bowl that collects the grape juice, so we create a ball.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/wptwo1-01.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4021\" title=\"wptwo1-01\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/wptwo1-01.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"280\" height=\"241\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We make it smooth by setting 90 polygons around, and then we make a copy of it, and do the move, resize, and Boolean remove operation, to get this.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/wptwo1-02.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4020\" title=\"wptwo1-02\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/wptwo1-02.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"384\" height=\"324\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>But, I think the edges are too thin, so we need to fix those a little, with a box and another boolean remove.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/wptwo1-03.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4019\" title=\"wptwo1-03\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/wptwo1-03.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"212\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>After the edges have been cut down, it looks much better.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/wptwo1-04.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4018\" title=\"wptwo1-04\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/wptwo1-04.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"303\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now, we need a texture for this, a wood texture is what I though, so I use the built in wood generator and modify it a little.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/wptwo1-05.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4017\" title=\"wptwo1-05\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/wptwo1-05.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"324\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now, we make the base of the press, and we need a texture for that too, and this time I&#8217;ll use my newest <a href=\"http:\/\/www.filterforge.com\/?affiliateid=200100725\" target=\"_blank\">FilterForge<\/a> filter as it is really good at making wood floors.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/wptwo1-06.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4016\" title=\"wptwo1-06\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/wptwo1-06.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"450\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The diffuse map<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/wptwo1-07.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4015\" title=\"wptwo1-07\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/wptwo1-07.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"450\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And the bump map. We apply to the floor, but as you can see, we need to map the UVs, otherwise it will look stupid.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/wptwo1-08.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4014\" title=\"wptwo1-08\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/wptwo1-08.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"169\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Here I have rotated the UV for the side polygons texture 90 degrees, and it looks really good now.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/wptwo1-09.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4013\" title=\"wptwo1-09\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/wptwo1-09.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"240\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>So, end if the day, here is a render of todays work.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/wptwo1-10.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4012\" title=\"wptwo1-10\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/wptwo1-10.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"221\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>As you can see, I have only camera light and no distant light on, that will be only in the final render.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What is it with wine presses?
