I&#8217;m already planning to create a few adventures.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/mine01.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4119\" title=\"mine01\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/mine01.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"292\" height=\"219\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This is the picture that was posted on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dundjinni.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Dundjinni<\/a> forum.<\/p>\n<p>So, we start <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cheetah3d.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Cheetah3D<\/a> and get to work. First, we create a ball, this will be the body of the mine.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/mine02.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4118\" title=\"mine02\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/mine02.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"381\" height=\"415\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now, we create a cylinder, and flatten it like a coin.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/mine03.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4117\" title=\"mine03\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/mine03.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"272\" height=\"215\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now, we create a spline object, a hexagon.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/mine04.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4116\" title=\"mine04\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/mine04.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"181\" height=\"162\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We extrude the spline, then create a cylinder and put inside it. We join those two objects with a Boolean, and call it a bolt.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/mine05.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4115\" title=\"mine05\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/mine05.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"231\" height=\"66\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Using the Ring modifier we create a ring of bolts on the flat cylinder.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/mine06.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4114\" title=\"mine06\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/mine06.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"298\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now, we create a few cylinders more and add to the <em>trigger device<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/mine08.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4112\" title=\"mine08\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/mine08.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"467\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We taper the long whip so it looks more pointy.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/mine07.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4113\" title=\"mine07\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/mine07.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"544\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now we start <a href=\"http:\/\/www.filterforge.com\/?affiliateid=200100725\" target=\"_blank\">FilterForge<\/a> to create a rust texture with my rust filter. We make a darker rust texture for the trigger devices.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/mine09.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4111\" title=\"mine09\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/mine09.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Using the Ring operation, we create a ring of the triggers around the mine body.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/mine10.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4110\" title=\"mine10\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/mine10.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"430\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now we need another, slightly lighter rusted texture for the mine body, so we make one.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/mine11.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4109\" title=\"mine11\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/mine11.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And here it is, a sea mine. I know, it is a little sloppy, but the whole operation from reading the post saying &#8220;OK, I&#8217;ll give it a shot&#8221; to &#8220;here it is&#8221; took about 30 minutes modeling, texture rendering, shadow rendering, which was also done afterwards in FilterForge.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/mine12.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4108\" title=\"mine12\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/mine12.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"362\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Beware, it might just turn your character into a physical schizophrenic, with many personalities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I made this mine upon an art request at the Dundjinni forum, and now I see that it fits perfectly with my newly born interest in making some modern map stuffs for Operation: Fallen Reich.
