{"id":4121,"date":"2010-05-22T07:00:22","date_gmt":"2010-05-22T05:00:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/?p=4121"},"modified":"2010-05-17T11:31:08","modified_gmt":"2010-05-17T09:31:08","slug":"making-a-modular-fence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/?p=4121","title":{"rendered":"Making a modular fence"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>So, I&#8217;m still working a little on the Neverending Docks, and I needed a fence to keep the horses from running away.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->I start off by starting <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cheetah3d.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Cheetah3D<\/a>, and creating a cylinder.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/fence01.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4130\" title=\"fence01\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/fence01.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"271\" height=\"367\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I shape it like a long thin pole.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/fence02.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4128\" title=\"fence02\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/fence02.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"141\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Then I taper it, to look like a piece of a tree.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/fence03.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4129\" title=\"fence03\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/fence03.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"69\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now, I need some bark, and I&#8217;m using a good bark filter for FilterForge that I&#8217;ve found a long time ago.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/fence04.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4126\" title=\"fence04\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/fence04.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Here is the diffuse map.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/fence05.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4125\" title=\"fence05\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/fence05.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And here is the bump map.<\/p>\n<p>Now I rotate the pole, and make 4 copies of it that I move a little to the right for each copy, like this.
