So, I’ve come up with another idea for an adventure for Operation:Fallen Reich<\/a> that I call Cricket and Crocodiles<\/strong>, and for that I need a Cricket bat.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Also, this will be the last of the frequent everyday posts as summer is almost here and I won’t be able to post as much during summertime. I will still post from time to time, so if you want to avoid missing anything, active are RSS feed.<\/p>\n

This is my goal, but a 1930 look of it, with no fancy paintwork at all.<\/p>\n

So, start\u00a0Cheetah3D<\/a> and create a box.<\/p>\n

Now, stretch it like a piece of plank.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>‘<\/p>\n

I used some Beveling and also a Boolean union to attach a flattened cylinder to it, but I forgot to snap shot those, mostly because I did it several times as it looked awful the first ten tries. Anyway, now create a cylinder for the handle.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

We use the Taper tool to taper it, first we give it a waist.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Then the make the rear bump a little larger.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Now, using a huge stretched sphere, we use a Boolean intersect to cut the edge of the bat a little rounded.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

We do the same thing on the other side, the handle side,<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Now, using FilterForge<\/a> and the plywood filter, we create a wood texture for the bat.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Then I needed some bat handle tape, and as no one have made a bat handle tape texture filter, I had to do it. The texturemap<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

And the bump map. The moire patterns are due to the very fine graining of the bump map, and the scaling to fit here.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Now, I fed the wood texture through the Cheetah3D texture generator and added some dirt and bumps to it.<\/p>\n

And here is the bat.<\/p>\n
