I know ProBono at DJ forum made some, but I made some myself just because I can.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->So, we start up <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cheetah3d.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Cheetah3D<\/a>, and today I will be using the new 5.5, which has support for normal maps, finally.<\/p>\n<p>So, lets create a pipe.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/cv01.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4454\" title=\"cv01\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/cv01.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"278\" height=\"207\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We thin the wall and stretch the pipe, like this. Then we add a Bend tool to it.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/cv02.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4453\" title=\"cv02\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/cv02.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"385\" height=\"437\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We bend it 90 degrees.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/cv03.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4452\" title=\"cv03\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/cv03.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"392\" height=\"588\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now we create a Torus ring and attach that to the edge.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/cv04.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4451\" title=\"cv04\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/cv04.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"338\" height=\"302\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We use a Boolean Union to merge the two objects into one. So, we got the model, now we just need some textures, and for that, as always, we got <a href=\"http:\/\/www.filterforge.com\/?affiliateid=200100725\" target=\"_blank\">FilterForge<\/a>. First, we create a plain white image and use Carl&#8217;s Derelict filter on it,m the texture map looks like this<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/cv05.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4450\" title=\"cv05\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/cv05.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>and here is the normal map. For you who do not under stand what a normal map is, it can be described as a bump map and a specular map all in one, as a bump map is only grey scale, but a normal map holds different information in the different channels.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/cv06.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4449\" title=\"cv06\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/cv06.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And here is another texture, made with a filter I just discovered call old tug boat, where you can set a color of the object to rust, very good filter.
