{"id":4824,"date":"2010-08-30T07:00:04","date_gmt":"2010-08-30T05:00:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/?p=4824"},"modified":"2010-08-26T09:41:46","modified_gmt":"2010-08-26T07:41:46","slug":"playing-with-woods-part-two","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/?p=4824","title":{"rendered":"Playing with woods &#8211; part two"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As you see, I am still playing with woods, and I will do some more useful map prop items today.<\/p>\n<p><em>This one is probably as unstructured as yesterdays post.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/wend2-01.jpg\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We start with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cheetah3d.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Cheetah3D<\/a>, and one of the logs from yesterday.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/wend2-01.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4834\" title=\"wend2-01\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/wend2-01.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"351\" height=\"239\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now, we add a Torus ring to the model.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/wend2-02.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4833\" title=\"wend2-02\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/wend2-02.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"265\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Using the settings of the Torus ring, we can get it to look like this, not very ringlike at all.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/wend2-03.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4832\" title=\"wend2-03\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/wend2-03.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"342\" height=\"402\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Using a box and a boolean remove, we cut away the top of the Torus <em>square frame<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/wend2-04.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4831\" title=\"wend2-04\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/wend2-04.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"358\" height=\"368\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now we&#8217;re gonna use the metal <a href=\"http:\/\/www.filterforge.com\/?affiliateid=200100725\" target=\"_blank\">FilterForge<\/a> filter I did the other day, to create some good rusty iron. First the Texture map.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/wend2-05.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4830\" title=\"wend2-05\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/wend2-05.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Then the Normal map (<em>OpenGL normal map for you who want to use it with Direct-X, and fail.<\/em>)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/wend2-06.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4829\" title=\"wend2-06\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/wend2-06.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We make a few copies of the Torus &#8220;U&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/wend2-07.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4828\" title=\"wend2-07\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/wend2-07.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"360\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Then we add a few stretched boxes to make this rig a little more designed for housing heavy logs.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/wend2-08.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4827\" title=\"wend2-08\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/wend2-08.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"276\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now we add some more logs, and here we have a load of logs.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/wend2-09.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4826\" title=\"wend2-09\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/wend2-09.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"594\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>While doing this I got a few more ideas, both for the wood end filter and for logs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As you see, I am still playing with woods, and I will do some more useful map prop items today.
