{"id":5168,"date":"2010-09-26T07:00:50","date_gmt":"2010-09-26T05:00:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/?p=5168"},"modified":"2010-09-25T12:16:53","modified_gmt":"2010-09-25T10:16:53","slug":"the-soul-an-old-car-part-one","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/?p=5168","title":{"rendered":"The soul an old car &#8211; part one"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve decided to make something really difficult, something I&#8217;ve never tried before, I will try to make a car model of a vintage car, the Morris Commercial Van model 1930.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->I found this picture that I though gave me a pretty good idea how it looks.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/cvan1-01.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5174\" title=\"cvan1-01\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/cvan1-01.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"271\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>So I decided to give it a go using <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cheetah3d.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Cheetah3D<\/a>, and see where I would land. First, I will create some wheels for it.<\/p>\n<p>Starting with a Cog, that we extrude, we get this.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/cvan1-02.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5175\" title=\"cvan1-02\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/cvan1-02.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"424\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now, we create a pipe that we size to surround the extruded cog.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/cvan1-03.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5173\" title=\"cvan1-03\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/cvan1-03.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"468\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We copy this pipe and enlarge the copy just a little.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/cvan1-04.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5172\" title=\"cvan1-04\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/cvan1-04.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"380\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We union the three objects into one.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/cvan1-05.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5171\" title=\"cvan1-05\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/cvan1-05.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"434\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now, we create a torus ring for a tire, and to cut away the inner side of the ring, we use a cylinder.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/cvan1-06.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5170\" title=\"cvan1-06\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/cvan1-06.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"360\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now, we set a procedural built in car paint texture, black, on the wheel, and a built in rubber like texture to the tire.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/cvan1-07.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5169\" title=\"cvan1-07\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/cvan1-07.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"397\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Looks good for a days work.
