You know me better than that, I decided to explore the possibilities a little more.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/cgate0201.jpg\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Today we&#8217;re gonna start good old <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cheetah3d.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Cheetah3D<\/a>, mostly because I&#8217;m still much more comfortable with the way it works still. We create a Box that we shape like this.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/cgate0201.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5592\" title=\"cgate0201\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/cgate0201.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"600\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now, using a Cylinder and a Box and some Boolean operations, we get this result, a half arch.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/cgate0202.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5593\" title=\"cgate0202\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/cgate0202.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"467\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Clone, rotate and Boolean join, we got something that we can use.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/cgate0203.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5594\" title=\"cgate0203\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/cgate0203.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"317\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now, we create another Box, then use the edge selector and shape it like this.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/cgate0204.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5595\" title=\"cgate0204\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/cgate0204.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"354\" height=\"303\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We add a Relief, which is Cheetah3Ds landscape polygon prop.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/cgate0205.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5596\" title=\"cgate0205\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/cgate0205.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"312\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>So, now into <a href=\"http:\/\/www.filterforge.com\/?affiliateid=200100725\" target=\"_blank\">FilterForge<\/a>, and the forest path filter I created here over a year ago as a tutorial. This fits perfectly for the task at hand.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/cgate0206.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5597\" title=\"cgate0206\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/cgate0206.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Here we have a nice path texture, dirt on grass. Now we apply this a material on the Relief, and size that to fit the entrance. Also, we bend the edge to get a better smooth transition to the other background when used later on.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/cgate0207.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5598\" title=\"cgate0207\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/cgate0207.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"276\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We wrap up a really quick filter to create a height map for the Relief, as Cheeath3D, much like Bryce, or Carrara 8 has the ability to let the Relief pick its polygon height from a map.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/cgate0208.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5599\" title=\"cgate0208\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/cgate0208.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We apply things, and then UV map so we get the track in the centre of the Relief.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/cgate0209.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5600\" title=\"cgate0209\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/cgate0209.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"490\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In FilterForge again, we render a texture using old ruins filter by Genie. Also, as you can see, I&#8217;ve put in a small box as floor for the dungeon entrance.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/cgate0210.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5601\" title=\"cgate0210\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/cgate0210.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"339\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>So, this is the first textured look.Tomorrow we will finish this one.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Did you all thing that making just one entrance prop would be enough for me?
