Will it work?<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/wag301.jpg\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>First, I need some textures, weathered wood textures was what I had in mind. So I start <a href=\"http:\/\/www.filterforge.com\/?affiliateid=200100725\" target=\"_blank\">FilterForge<\/a> and use my <em>little old cottage<\/em> filter to make this, the texture for the box. Diffuse map.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/wag301.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5779\" title=\"wag301\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/wag301.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And bump map.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/wag302.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5778\" title=\"wag302\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/wag302.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now I need another smoother wood texture for the other wood parts, so I use the filter\u00a0<em>wood generator<\/em> by a guy called Apple. First diffuse map.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/wag303.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5777\" title=\"wag303\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/wag303.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Then bump map.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/wag304.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5776\" title=\"wag304\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/wag304.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now I apply and UV map the textures in Cheetah3D. Then I import a raw .obj export of the Millennium horse into <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cheetah3d.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Cheetah3D<\/a>, and size the wagon to fit that instead.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/wag305.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5775\" title=\"wag305\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/wag305.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"215\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>As you can see, the model is ugly but it is the size I&#8217;m after, not looks. I create a Cylinder, add a rope texture generated with my FilterForge filter, and set the Pivot point to the very end. Then I clone it and place the clone on the other side. Now I can adjust it to fit the Millennium horse.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/wag306.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5774\" title=\"wag306\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/wag306.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"360\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>See, looking good.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/wag307.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5773\" title=\"wag307\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/wag307.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"353\" height=\"449\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now I need the girdle, so I create a pipe that I shape to fit the back of the Millennium Horse. Then I Boolean remove the rest with a Box.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/wag308.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5772\" title=\"wag308\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/wag308.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"328\" height=\"306\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>So, its done, except that I added a leather texture, also from FilterForge to the girdle. I now export the model with both .obj and .mat files. and import it into <a href=\"http:\/\/poser.smithmicro.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Poser<\/a>. Here is a render from Poser, looking good.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/wag309.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5771\" title=\"wag309\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/wag309.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"254\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now, adding the Millennium horse again to scale it after I imported it from Cheetah3D, but what is important is that now the girdle is perfectly positioned as long as the scale is right.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/wag310.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5770\" title=\"wag310\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/wag310.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"164\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Some scaling and positioning in height and I got this screenshot, I think this is getting somewhere. I now export it from Poser as a Prop, but before that I ensured that all textures pointed to files inside my own private Runtime structure and not to somewhere in my props making folders. I then launched D<a href=\"http:\/\/www.daz3d.com\/i\/software\/daz_studio3?_m=d\" target=\"_blank\">AZ Studio<\/a> to see if it opened well, and that the scale was correct. This is a screen quick render from DAZ Studio.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/wag311.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5769\" title=\"wag311\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/wag311.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"260\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I now started Carrara 8 and added the Millennium horse and the wagon to the scene.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/wag312.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5768\" title=\"wag312\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/wag312.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"397\" height=\"1069\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And this is the resulting prop, ready to use in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dundjinni.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Dundjinni<\/a> or any other map making software of your choice.
