We start with \u00a0Box that we set to 3x3x3 polygons.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/plmake401.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6265\" title=\"plmake401\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/plmake401.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"335\" height=\"368\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now we decrease the size of the top polygons by selecting them all and them make them smaller. This will create a cut off pyramid like shape of the top.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/plmake402.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6264\" title=\"plmake402\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/plmake402.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"349\" height=\"345\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now time for textures, and guess what, I will make them in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.filterforge.com\/?affiliateid=200100725\" target=\"_blank\">FilterForge<\/a> today also. This filter is called battleship plating, and it suits well for the use I want for it. First the texture map.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/plmake403.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6263\" title=\"plmake403\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/plmake403.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Then the bump map.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/plmake404.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6262\" title=\"plmake404\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/plmake404.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now we make 4 copies of the block we just made. and Apply the texture to them, UV map them a little differently. <em>I still such on UV-mapping, why does it have to be so difficult? I need to find a good tutorial on this. I&#8217;ve tried but haven&#8217;t found any good ones. If anyone knows a good UV-map tutorial, please tell me.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/plmake405.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6261\" title=\"plmake405\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/plmake405.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"379\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Here is a topdown render, good enough if you don&#8217;t look too close.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/plmake406a.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6266\" title=\"plmake406a\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/plmake406a.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And here we place the core drive units inside the engine room using <a href=\"http:\/\/www.omnigroup.com\/applications\/omnigraffle\/\" target=\"_blank\">OmniGraffle<\/a>. This starts to look like a spaceship to me. I also added some diamond plate floor.
