Room fillers are important to make a map stand out.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->So, we dive into <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cheetah3d.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Cheetah3D<\/a> and create a Box.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/pl701.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6343\" title=\"pl701\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/pl701.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"333\" height=\"335\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>First we stretch it a little, then we use the edge select and drag top edge close to the edge of the center polygon row.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/pl702.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6342\" title=\"pl702\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/pl702.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"459\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We now quickly jump into <a href=\"http:\/\/www.filterforge.com\/?affiliateid=200100725\" target=\"_blank\">FilterForge<\/a> to render a few textures. We make it small, all we need and no bump map, just the texture.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/pl705.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6339\" title=\"pl705\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/pl705.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now we create materials and apply them to the object.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/pl706.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6338\" title=\"pl706\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/pl706.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"367\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Looks like something in a engine room. But I found another pretty cool filter, making rubber hoses, so I use this to make this one.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/pl707.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6337\" title=\"pl707\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/pl707.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now I go back into <a href=\"http:\/\/www.omnigroup.com\/applications\/omnigraffle\/\" target=\"_blank\">OmniGraffle<\/a> and add the rendered object to the map. Then I create a polygon where I set this rubber hose texture to it.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/pl708.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6336\" title=\"pl708\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/pl708.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"209\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Here it is, and a huge hose going straight across the room, adding atmosphere to the map.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today we&#8217;re gonna make more things for the engine room, this time on the main deck.
