As I&#8217;ve used this saloon in 3D pictures for the adventure, I will use the same technique I did when making the Promised Land to make this one, render the 3D scene top down to get the layout.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->So, first we open the DAZ Saloon interior in <a title=\"DAZ Studio\" href=\"http:\/\/www.daz3d.com\/i\/software\/daz_studio3?_m=d\" target=\"_blank\">DAZ Studio<\/a> and render it top down, hiding the ceilings.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/sal01.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6429\" title=\"sal01\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/sal01.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"536\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now we open this in <a title=\"OmniGraffle\" href=\"http:\/\/www.omnigroup.com\/applications\/omnigraffle\/\" target=\"_blank\">OmniGraffle<\/a> and put it in the bottom layer. We now start to figure out where the floors are, adding polygons for those in OmniGraffle.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/sal02.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6428\" title=\"sal02\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/sal02.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"459\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Using <a title=\"FilterForge\" href=\"http:\/\/www.filterforge.com\/?affiliateid=200100725\" target=\"_blank\">FilterForge<\/a> and one of my own filters I render a saloon floor texture to use in OmniGraffle.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/sal03.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6427\" title=\"sal03\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/sal03.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We set the new floor texture to the floors we just mapped up, still showing the walls of the top down render.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/sal04.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6426\" title=\"sal04\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/sal04.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"465\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And here is the floor alone, plus the walls.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/sal05.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6425\" title=\"sal05\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/sal05.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"430\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now we need a texture for the walls in top down view, so back into FilterForge.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/sal07.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6423\" title=\"sal07\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/sal07.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And while we&#8217;re at it, we render a floor for the upper level as well.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/sal06.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6424\" title=\"sal06\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/sal06.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And why not make a stair case texture using the same filter.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/sal06b.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6442\" title=\"sal06b\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/sal06b.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>So far so good, next time we will finish this respectable establishment.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today we&#8217;re gonna begin making a map of a saloon named Stars &amp; Stallions, a proper name for a proper establishment.
