They can tile, but they do have a rather hefty polygon count, so don&#8217;t add too many to a scene.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/gprop01.jpg\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>First we&#8217;re gonna jump into <a title=\"FilterForge\" href=\"http:\/\/www.filterforge.com\/?affiliateid=200100725\" target=\"_blank\">FilterForge<\/a> to create a texture, as this all starts there. For this I will use a brand new filter that is really good for making grounds, fertilizer, not my filter, I downloaded it from the repository. Here is the downsized texture map, the original is 4000&#215;4000 pixels.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/gprop01.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6482\" title=\"gprop01\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/gprop01.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Here is a closeup to show you the details of this texture.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/gprop02.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6481\" title=\"gprop02\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/gprop02.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"379\" height=\"449\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And here is the bump map.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/gprop03.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6480\" title=\"gprop03\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/gprop03.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now, we jump into <a title=\"Cheetah3D\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cheetah3d.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Cheetah3D<\/a>. I&#8217;ve never really thought how to use this great function I will now show you in a creative way, until I came up with this idea. There is an object called Relief, which looks like this when added.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/gprop04.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6479\" title=\"gprop04\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/gprop04.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"253\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now, you can really do cool things with this. If you reset it and remove all noise, you get this.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/gprop05.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6478\" title=\"gprop05\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/gprop05.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"235\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Here are the settings. As you can see, you can add an image as base for the height, as a height map.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/gprop06.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6477\" title=\"gprop06\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/gprop06.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"264\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And this is what we get.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/gprop07.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6476\" title=\"gprop07\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/gprop07.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"214\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And when we add the texture material, we get this.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/gprop08.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6475\" title=\"gprop08\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/gprop08.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"241\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>But as you can see, it is a little sharp and too bumpy, so we flatten the bump map using a quick FilterForge filter I made, where you adjust low point and high point of the tone curve.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/gprop09.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6474\" title=\"gprop09\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/gprop09.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now, we apply this instead as height map.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/gprop10.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6473\" title=\"gprop10\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/gprop10.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"257\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>As you can see it now looks pretty darn realistic. So now I just export as an .obj, and import it into Poser and write it out as a .pp2 Poser prop, ready to be used in both <a title=\"DAZ Studio\" href=\"http:\/\/www.daz3d.com\/i\/software\/daz_studio3?_m=d\" target=\"_blank\">DAZ Studio<\/a> and <a title=\"Poser\" href=\"http:\/\/poser.smithmicro.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Poser<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today we&#8217;re gonna make some good looking 3D props for use are ground in your close up scenes.
