I needed a sofa, and browser through my <a title=\"Poser\" href=\"http:\/\/poser.smithmicro.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Poser<\/a> Runtime. I&#8217;ve found Poser good to render objects in now when I finally figured out a good light setting. The problem was the sofa looked too plastic, so it needed a little tweak.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/sofa01.jpg\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This is a screenshot if the sofa from Poser.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/sofa01.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6603\" title=\"sofa01\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/sofa01.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"281\" height=\"485\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>So I jumped into <a title=\"FilterForge\" href=\"http:\/\/www.filterforge.com\/?affiliateid=200100725\" target=\"_blank\">FilterForge<\/a> to create a quick bump map for the material. First I created two Noises, one <strong>Stones<\/strong> and One <strong>Techno<\/strong>. I then blended those noises in a blend with 50% blending.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/sofa02.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6602\" title=\"sofa02\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/sofa02.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"441\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The result I then sent to a <strong>High Pass<\/strong> to flatten it, and then to the <strong>Result<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/sofa03.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6601\" title=\"sofa03\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/sofa03.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"301\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This is the resulting bumpmap.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/sofa04.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6600\" title=\"sofa04\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/sofa04.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now I added that bump map to the red sofa texture in the Materials panel.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/sofa05.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6599\" title=\"sofa05\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/sofa05.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"379\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>See, looks so much better already. I rendered out a red and a green version, just changing the diffuse color from red to green.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/sofa06.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6604\" title=\"sofa06\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/sofa06.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"216\" height=\"477\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/sofa07.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6607\" title=\"sofa07\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/sofa07.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"216\" height=\"477\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>While at it, I created two dirty textures in FilterForge using the Dirt filter over a plain color.
