The terrain is based on a seed that you can randomize, type or randomize and lock.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/canal01.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6691\" title=\"canal01\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/canal01.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"392\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And this is how lit looks in the 3D view.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/canal02.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6690\" title=\"canal02\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/canal02.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"197\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I started to play with the default filters to change the look. First I flattened the altitudes and added some noise.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/canal03.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6689\" title=\"canal03\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/canal03.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"156\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Then I added some erosion to that.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/canal04.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6688\" title=\"canal04\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/canal04.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"136\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And this is the 2D view of the same terrain after filtering.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/canal05.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6687\" title=\"canal05\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/canal05.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"393\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now, I started to play with the iso-lines. I added one across set to subtract altitude, to make a canyon or creek.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/canal06.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6686\" title=\"canal06\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/canal06.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"395\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>After apply it looks like this.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/canal07.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6685\" title=\"canal07\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/canal07.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"390\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And the 3D view now looks promising.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/canal08.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6684\" title=\"canal08\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/canal08.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"211\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I now added two side creeks from the main creek.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/canal09.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6683\" title=\"canal09\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/canal09.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"402\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And then I applied it.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/canal10.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6682\" title=\"canal10\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/canal10.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"387\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now I exported the terrain to Vue, added some materials and added a water plane which I populated with pond plants. I also added some EcoSystems for the terrain. I <em>painted<\/em> the different material areas in Vue. And here is the result, or the second result as the first took too long time to render, I gave up after 2 days, this one took just an hour.
