{"id":6996,"date":"2011-08-27T07:00:56","date_gmt":"2011-08-27T05:00:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/?p=6996"},"modified":"2011-08-20T11:41:24","modified_gmt":"2011-08-20T09:41:24","slug":"making-a-prison-bench-part-one","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/?p=6996","title":{"rendered":"Making a prison bench &#8211; part one"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I need some worn prison wall mounted benches for the upcoming adventure<strong> Heart Of The Gods &#8211; Part III <\/strong>and I didn&#8217;t have any, and I might need it both for top down map views, but also for a 3D handout view.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->So, back into <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cheetah3d.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Cheetah3D<\/a> again, not that dusty anymore, feels good to create some 3D again. We start out with a Box.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/pben001.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7008\" title=\"pben001\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/pben001.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"383\" height=\"330\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We then shape it by stretching it then set a 5x10x10 sub division before turning it from primitive to polygon object.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/pben002.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7007\" title=\"pben002\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/pben002.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"180\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now, we need texture, because I have an idea, so I download a wood texture from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cgtextures.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">CGTexture.com<\/a> and then tile it myself in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.luxology.com\/imageSynth\/\" target=\"_blank\">ImageSynth<\/a>. Here is the texture map.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/pben003.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7005\" title=\"pben003\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/pben003.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And here is a bump map generated with a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.filterforge.com\/?affiliateid=200100725\" target=\"_blank\">FilterForge<\/a> filter.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/pben004.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7006\" title=\"pben004\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/pben004.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This will give out bench a battered look. I also first played with a wood end texture, which you will see but as I later on removed it I ignored the fact that someone might have appreciated that I posted it here too. Here is the material applied to out sketched box.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/pben005.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7004\" title=\"pben005\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/pben005.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"226\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Doing a Catmull-Clark subdivision and then some Magnet tool distortion, we got this result. Still, then wood end is there.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/pben006.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7003\" title=\"pben006\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/pben006.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"104\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>But how will this be wall mounted? With chains of course.
