As any good action movie, we want a climax at the end, a real big fight with many tactical options.<\/p>\n<p>The final mansion should be nice, or have once been nice. So, first we start to create a nice, large mansion like stair case to the front door, the ones who built this had class.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/port-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-909\" title=\"port-1\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/port-1.jpg\" alt=\"port-1\" width=\"600\" height=\"426\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We use our shadow overlays that we have used so many times before, but there is something missing, rails.<\/p>\n<p>Rails are difficult to create in Dundjinni for us who cannot draw. Others, with artistic skills can draw then free hand and they look really good.<\/p>\n<p>So, we start <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cheetah3D.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Cheetah3D<\/a> today again, to create some stair case railings. We start out with a cylinder object this time.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/port-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-910\" title=\"port-2\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/port-2.jpg\" alt=\"port-2\" width=\"359\" height=\"308\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We will use this for the actual railing, and to do this, we change the shape of it to look like this.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/port-3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-911\" title=\"port-3\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/port-3.jpg\" alt=\"port-3\" width=\"450\" height=\"296\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now, we change the view to flat, frontal view, and create a new spline, and create something that looks like the contour of the pillar we want to support the railing.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/port-4.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-912\" title=\"port-4\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/port-4.jpg\" alt=\"port-4\" width=\"177\" height=\"266\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We use the Lathe tool to turn this into a 360 filled object, like this:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/port-5.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-913\" title=\"port-5\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/port-5.jpg\" alt=\"port-5\" width=\"204\" height=\"291\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We stretch it a little, looking too fat, and then we use the array tool to make a line of these with an equal distance between them.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/port-6.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-914\" title=\"port-6\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/port-6.jpg\" alt=\"port-6\" width=\"600\" height=\"230\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>So, we are onto something here, a railing, but one small problem, this one is flat. So, we use another modifier, and twist the pillars, then rotate the group and the railing, to look like this:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/port-7.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-915\" title=\"port-7\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/port-7.jpg\" alt=\"port-7\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now, this looks really good. Remember, this will be on a battle map, so small details wont show up. We need something at the lower end of the railing, so we add a box and reshape it.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/port-8.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-916\" title=\"port-8\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/port-8.jpg\" alt=\"port-8\" width=\"235\" height=\"419\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And we can add a little sphere on top of that, to get a little classy look.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/port-9.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-917\" title=\"port-9\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/port-9.jpg\" alt=\"port-9\" width=\"264\" height=\"481\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now, we create a marble texture, using the built in marble in Cheetah3D, it is good enough for this. For the end pillar and the sphere, we add a rusty metal texture.<\/p>\n<p>The result, after added shadows looks like this.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/rail-4e.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-918\" title=\"rail-4e\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/rail-4e.png\" alt=\"rail-4e\" width=\"244\" height=\"783\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And the stair case with railings in place<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/port-10.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-919\" title=\"port-10\" src=\"http:\/\/4eyes.code66.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/10\/port-10.jpg\" alt=\"port-10\" width=\"600\" height=\"404\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We adjust them a little, and mirror it for the left side.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>More encounter mapping today.
