So, I’m back at the waterfront again, gonna make some oars this time, and I will probably stay here for awhile, as I am working on a map for the Dundjinni map competition.
We start our dear friend Cheetah3D, and create a cylinder.
Now we stretch it as a long thin pole.
We do some Taper and other modifications to it for getting the handle and the blade ends look better. Then we add a box, shape it like a slice, and place it dead center on the pole.
We Catmull-Clark subdivide it to make it a little rounder, and we then use modifiers to shape the oar blade a little.
Now we use some of the wood texture materials we’ve done i previous sessions, and make two pairs of oars with different texturing, to avoid repetitive looks on our maps.
Nice oars I think.
