Someone back at the Dundjinni forum had some pictures of an old egyptian potter wheel from 2400 BC, and requested art for it, so I took on the challenge.

First, these are the two pictures of the reconstructed potter wheel.

So, we start up good old Cheetah3D, and start to model the wooden frame first. We start off with a box.

For a light wood texture, we use a standard wood texture filter in FilterForge, and make a light wood texture.

Now, we build the framework of the wooden structure, vertical pieces first.

Then we add the horizontal ones. Building one two-bar piece, and grouping it so we can clone that group, and place it without having to adjust the height for every piece.

Using top down view to place the side bars in the exact location.

So, we’re done with the wooden framework.

Tomorrow, we’re gonna add wheels and do the final touches.
