So, I discovered that I needed some more market stands on my Westport village market, and that some of the items I used were with a non-commercial license. I’m working on a campaign setting around the maps of Westport I made for the Dundjinni map contest, so I needed to be able to sell that, I if want to. So, making some new market items on todays agenda.

So, starting up Cheetah3D, and make a very simple market tent. I got an idea that worked very well, so here we go.

I just created a box, and rotated it a little, and set the camera at the normal 30 degrees of fov (field of view), and it looked good, but grey.

Starting FilterForge, and using some of the great filters there, I created a bunch of textures for the roofs.

A wool texture.

A straw roof texture

A quilt texture

And a sack texture.

Then I rendered the box, using the straw and the sack texture, getting two roofs. For the market items, I picked from the great collection of already made objects for Dundjinni, and composed everything using OmniGraffle.

And here are JPEG previews of the first two items.

Stay tuned, tomorrow, we’re gonna make two more.
