So, now we’re in the state of finishing up the map, adding bushes and trees and fixing things that wasn’t perfect at first. So, let’s get to work shall we?

We open up the file in Dundjinni, and first we start to add a bunch of bushes to the grass areas of the map. I use the bush-cover from the Dundjinni wild art-pack, which is very good art, all of it. We start down at the river delta. Its is important to get layering right here, and as we have moved the cover pieces for the edge up, we now need to carefully check that the new bush and trees we add end up over those, or we have to layer move then.

Ans this is further up, where we just finished the coastline, as we didn’t do that the first round as I didn’t know what else I wanted except the bay, and that was lucky as I added the river and delta.

We add a ruined building from the Dundjinni forum, a very nice piece that fits perfectly, and it has some nice ivy or vegetation growing on it, I really like.

Now, I decided that the river should be fast moving and lively, so I fill it with water foam cover, and it really looks dangerous to swim in.

I also made another changed, cloned the broken bridge from Bogie and removed the shadow at the ends, so the road connects better. Not that I mean Bogies bridge as a bad job, no, on the contrary it’s a masterpiece, but it didn’t fit my needs for it, this is better I think. I also add a tree line to the right of the map, the forest starts here.

So, this is how the maps looks right now, but it will change, and change right now, as I got so inspired by the ivy or vines on that ruin, and I want more.

So, time for good old FilterForge, and the hanging ivy filter by BenBechwith, a really great filter. I rendered a few (four to be more specific) item on transparent background, setting the ivy to rather sparse, and I went to 400×400. Then I cropped away the uncovered 50% below, and resized down to 50%.

This is how the first four look, on white background.

Now, I added them to Dundjinni, as cover, and I painted wild with them on the map, just to see how it would look, and I’m pleased with the result, so more ivy is on the way, will make a full kit 12-16 pieces of this one, and then another with different color settings. This is the center with the fallen pillars.

Looks perfectly overgrown, like nature strikes back at civilization or something.

Tomorrow, we got the piece of land on the other side of the river to do something with, maybe some barrows. Hmm, I like, we have a temple on the other side, so this can be where the nobles where burried.
