So, still cold outside, so I need more fireplaces to feel warm. Actually, I just need to start a BatchRenderer with a complex FilterForge filter to get the temperature in my study up to a decent working temp. The heather in this room was switched off years ago.

So, we start up Cheetah3D, the brand new 5.3 was just released, with full 64bit support for anyone have huge scenes, I don’t, but it render faster, that is always good.

Furst, we create a cylinder, and set 90 polygons around, and 15  on height, to make it easy to modify.

Now we use the Taper tool, to get a cone like shape.

We then cut away half of it, using a Box and a Boolean remove.

Now, we cut out the actual fireplace, where the fire will be.

We apply the stove textures we did before in FilterForge, the clean on the outside, and the darkened one in the fire hole.

We add a little fire with in it, and add a light source with orange light.

Now, we render it, using a non topdown camera position, but a little off, to get a better view. Then we import it into OmniGraffle, and add a light effect we did earlier.

And here is an action shot of it, in the upcoming The Neverending Inns.

So, tomorrow we might make some doors, in FilterForge.
