Today, and tomorrow as well, we’re gonna make a new bunk bed for the tavern. I’ve used one of my first items I’ve made, a bunk bed so many times I’ve got bored with it. This time I will make a much better bunk bed.

We start Cheetah3D, and create a box, you always need to start somewhere don’t you?

Now, we make a pole out of this one. So, we’re gonna use the built in wood generator today, as it makes great wooden rings, but we tweak it by adding a turbulence to control the trunk wobble, so the rings get a little more random and jaggy.

We add the wood texture to the pole we made, and make three copies of it, and place each in one of the corners of our imaginary bunk bud.

Now, we create another box, make it flat and add one of our old textures, cottage wood, to it. Then we create another box that we will use as the mattress, and we Catmul-Clark subdivide it to make it just a little round.

Now, we create a ball, and shape it like a soap or a sea shore stone.

We do a bunch of Taper and other mods to it to give it a different shape.

Adding a linen texture to the mattress that we have rendered in FilterForge before, and the same texture but with a tint of color to the pillow, we have a good start for a bed.

So, tomorrow, we’re gonna add blankets.
