Today, we’re gonna make some crates using images from CGTextures. I needed some more crates and thought maybe I could use the FilterForge filter I made to make shelves and tables.
I start by hunting at CGTextures for some rough plank images, and came up with these.
Now, I used one texture I found before, and by using OmniGraffle, I cut pieces of it to use for my crates.
I made 12 different if these, all with the same shape but using different parts of the old wood image. Now, I ran them all through my table filter using FilterForge.
As you can see, a little bevel, dirt and shadows really makes the difference. So, time to build crates, in OmniGraffle.
I think they look really good. And here it is, the shot from the store.
As you can see, I also use a lot of the weathered crates made by IronDwarf.
