Many things to do today. I need a lot of different things, among them potions, as I’ve used up all potions from the Dundjinni forum.
So, first we start up Cheetah3D to make a potion bottle, we start with a ball.
Now, we make a copy of this ball, reshape it like a lens, and move it to the bottom of the ball.
using a Boolean remove, we get a nicely shaped bottom for the bottle. We now add a few cylinders to the ball, to make it look like a bottle.
We Boolean unite the objects, copy the items, set the size to 0.99% of the original, and nudge it to the center, them Boolean remove to leave a thin bottle. We then use a cylinder to remove the top, but copy that cylinder before we use it in the boolean remove.
We set a cork texture to the copy we had, now we have a bottle. We render 13 different bottles with different content, glass color. Shadows applied in OmniGraffle.
Here they are, a nice potion collection.
Now, I needed a beggars box for a beggar / bard in the market. I created a FilterForge filter, very quick, that can render coins.
Now I use a box I made before, that DevilDan then made a color modification to, and mount the image in OmniGraffle.
At last, I needed to fix an old item I made in Cheetah3D, a spear barrel. Now when I’ve figured out how to use the HDRI rendered, I needed to render that again.
First a single spear. Look at the nice metal reflections.
And the barrel with spears. As you learn new things, old models become like new when you understand how to render them better.
