Today, we’re gonna make a weapon that I needed but could not find, a crossbow. We’re gonna make two versions of it, a loaded and a non loaded. This will be both fun and difficult.

So, start up Cheetah3D and start working, we start with a cylinder.

We stretch the cylinder, and set the polygon to about 50 diversions along the sides, as we will need to work a lot with this cylinder, that will be the base of the crossbow.

We create a box, size it to a lenght about two thirds of the cylinder, and place it to cover the top half. We use a Boolean remove to cut away that.

Now we create another cylinder, size it to about 50% of the diameter of the previous one, and place it at the center, but in the cut away part. Now we Boolean remove that too.

We now taper the uncut part, the shoulder stock.

We  create two balls and size them like elliptic lenses, and place one on each side of the shoulder stock, then Boolean remove them.

Now, we create a pipe, which we make thin and size elliptic. We place it like this.

Using a box and a boolean remove, we remove everything from that pipe except the front part, that we will use as the bow.

We add some texture to the wood, and we ass a pipe that re remove the top from where the bolt should be. Also, adding some details for the firing mechanism makes it look more realistic.

And here is a crossbow, unloaded.

And here is the same crossbow, in a top down angle, like it is leaning against a wall.

And here is the same crossbow, loaded this time, with a bolt, ready to penetrate the enemy.

I hope this was fun, now that I have crossbows, what should I do with them?
