No sudden news today, so we will continue with this wine press.

I’ve noticed that I forgot the bottom of the construction, those pieces that looks like skids, so I decided I’ll do that now. Back into Cheetah3D, I created two boxes, and used the Catmull-Clark subdivision to make one of the get that worn look.

Now, I use  Boolean remove to cut away a part of that skid. Then I make a copy if it, set the texture to it, and place the copy on the other side, so we now have two skids.

Now we create another box, and make that a flat top for the box, leaving a little space on the sides.

Using my new FilterForge filter, I create a new wood texture, this is the diffuse map.

And this is the bump map.

I still have a little “glitch” in the filter, the round that make this wonderful bump map, sometimes place a dark spot to close to the gap, but it didn’t happen on this one. I will need to fix that before I release this filter to the public. Here is the top in place.

Now, we need that other chunk of wood that is part of the construction to withstand the force of the pressing. We start with a box, and set a polygon division to 3x3x3.

Now we use the taper tool to shape it like in the picture, still knowing that what we cannot see in the picture, we need to guess.

We add an old wood texture to it, and here is todays render.

I am proud of that versatile wood filter, it is really good.
