I’m working on some maps for my adventure 7.50 From Victoria for Operation:Fallen Reich, and I need some roofs for a map, for traditional English houses.
I start out in Cheetah3D, by making a box.
Now I use the Bevel method, by selecting an edge, then make a Bevel of it.
Now, I need a texture for this, and I’ve had a filter that I downloaded a long time a go that will be perfect for this, so I start up FilterForge.
This really looks good, you can almost smell the ashes and smoke from factories that have colored the roof.
Now, back into cheetah and set this texture on the box we made.
As you can see, I sized the bevel a little larger, and then carefully UV-map the texture on the different polygons so it look good.
And here it is, the roof, ready to protect you from the British rain. Tomorrow I got something more exciting.
