Today we’re gonna add some more bits and pieces that we need to make a market map that looks genuine for Egypt around 1935. I do not specify the bettar than that to avoid spoiling things for my players.

Today we open the session with FilterForge, to create some crates. We will be using two different filters, first Mike Blackney’s Crate Factory, then my own metal rim crate.

This one is made with Create Factory.

This one is made with metal rim crate. OK, we got some crates now. I made a few more, but no need to show every variation here.

Now, what can you more use to hold your market stand shelves? I know, used oil barrels. I bet I can make one pretty good i Cheetah3D, so lets start Cheetah and find out. We start by making a cylinder.

Now we create a torus ring, make it a little flat, and size it a little wider than the cylinder (base barrel).

We set the polygon count to 90 to get a smooth surface, then we create an Array, and repeat the torus ring using that.

OK, now you think, what on earth is he doing? But wait, we move this pile of torus rings over the cylinder, and join then with a boolean union.

Could be an oil barrel, we just need some texture to it, something old and used. Using the filter 100 years old tugboat, we can create a pretty good grungy texture. First a blue version.

Then a yellow version.

Looks good with rust and all. Tomorrow will we see how it look when I add those textures to the barrel object, cliffhanger.
