So, we got a lot of stuff, but imagine those who have more or less permanent market stands. They will have a more permanent roof that just cloth. Here is a try to make a roof like that.
We start out with Cheetah3D, and a box.
We shape it like a flat rectangle, like this.
Now we set the polygon division to around 10, then Catmull-Clark subdivide it two times for a rounder look. We add another box to it, that we stretch.
Setting a built in wood texture to the box below, the foundation, we then copy it and place a few of those to support the roof.
Now, we start FilterForge and use the filter Hut by Carl, to render a in my opinion perfect grassy roof texture.
Now we apply this texture as material to our roof object. Then we group the objects and rotate the group a little.
We now adjust the UVs using UV.mapping so the roof texture looks as good as possible,
And here it is, a new more permanent market roof.
So, what’s next? I haven’t got a clue, maybe put together some objects now.
