When Dundjinni came back from the plane walk, I posted some of the objects I did for the market, and I got some comments on the trapdoors so I decided to revisit and expand those a little.

So, we open up the old Cheetah3D file with the trapdoor, and add a box.

We shape it flat, and place it at the back end of the trapdoor, we’re gonna make some hinges.

Now we create a cylinder, shrink it and place it across the hinge.

We Boolean join the box with the cylinder, then we copy the object and place one at the other side, using top view for accuracy.

Now, we create a new rusty iron texture in FilterForge for this, using my Iron filter, first the texture map.

Now the Normal map.

So, tomorrow we will see where this will take us.
