We’re still playing the mad hats, today we’re gonna make yet another hat and learn something else I hope.
We start Cheetah3D again, as I like to model in that program. We create another spline object, this time
We use the Lathe tool and get this.
Now we add another felt texture to the hat.
And after UV-mapping we get this. Then we created a few new textures for the ribbons using FilterForge.
We export the that from Cheetah3D, and when we import into Poser, we try to guess how to scale it, by setting the figure size to 22%.
This time it came in at an almost perfect scale.
Now, I realized that as I’ve added new ribbon textures, the ribbon needed to be UV-mapped using the Cylinder model, so I quickly opened the saved Cheetah3D files, remapped and exported them again. By now, I have learned one good thing to do in Poser while scaling hats. If you hover the house over the skull, you ca see the outline and see how the hat is placed.
And if you then turn the camera 90 degrees, you can check that way too.
So, four hats, all with a better mapped ribbon. Done yet?
