Today we’re gonna finish up the crew quarters and add some more nifty details to the main deck.

First we star Cheetah3D to create a railing around the stairs to prevent our heroes from falling down and hurt them self.

We create three cylinders that we place like this:

Then we use some nifty but boring Boolean unions and remove to make it look better. We use a HDRI environment and a metal chrome texture.

This is the stairs we made before, just some darkness added below to get the impressing of something leading down. The whole map is assembled in OmniGraffle.

Now we add the railing and some border shadows.

This looks much better. We jump into DAZ Studio and render some lockers from the Sci-Fi furniture set, then open them up in OmniGraffle to adjust the size and add some drop shadows.

And these kitchen kits.

We now jump to FilterForge to make some simple metal textures for some benches. First we make a lighter one.

Then we make a darker one.

We now create a rectangle in OmniGraffle and set the light texture as image, in a tiling mode.

We add another rectangle behind this one with the darker texture. Set some corner radius, and we got a table. We copy the two objects and reshape and we got two tables or benches.

Ans as you can see, the crew quarters ar coming along nicely. The shower cabin will have to be re rendered though.

So, the Promised Land is coming along nicely, stay tuned.
