As the Promised Land will be the crews home for weeks at a time in space, there will be need for many different kinds of activities to keep fit, this is one of them.

So, we start up Cheetah3D today, and we create a Box that we shape like this:

Now we create another box, and stretch it the other way.

You see where this is leading? A Table. Now we Boolean merge them all together, then I lark the seams for texture cutting.

I Start FilterForge and I create a little fast filter to make a scratched metal surface, here is the texture.

Here is the bump map.

Now we create a material in Cheetah3D and apply that to our table.

Here are two topdown renders, sized and shadowed using OmniGraffle.

And here is a table with some guns, ready for practicing.

And here is a piece of the Promised Land map, the indoor shooting range to keep up the skills with the six-shooter and your rifle. The targets are of course virtual hologram targets of Alliance troops.

I think we’re coming somewhere now, this ship starts to look really good.
