More mapping today folks, and something we don’t have a draft for, so we’re gonna work creative today. One of the things when creating a map, no matter if you draw a draft by hand or work in your favorite program, the map always needs to have some grounds to stand on, it has to connect to the world, unless it is a map of a strange plane of cause.

I made a quick decision, this will be an old manor, in stone, and located as I wrote before, out of town, in the woods, or close to the woods.

This was what I came up with just drawing randomly.

The map will be larger, with woods around the more organized part of the property. I wanted irregular shapes, as they play wonderfully when the PCs are attacking, and you can have baddies with crossbows or throwing knives in the windows, attacking them and harassing them.

Also, I wanted a really large dining room, where I will place a large table, a large central fireplace, and some nice furniture. Also, a kitchen and several exit. Nothing beats the feeling of baddies escaping through the back door instead of fighting, and it also gives the PCs more options for attacking.

I also came up with an idea with a roof that DM can lay over the map as long as no one have entered the building. This way, the tactical planning is limited to whats actually seen (doors), unless the PCs use magic or other smart ideas to scout the area, which are things any good party would come up with.
